It’s back! – The Cathedral African Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are just $25 for adults, $10 for children; please see Gaw Jones or a member of the African Festival Committee to purchase.
The CAST committee has been hard at work putting together an exciting season for our church family! – We begin our new season with our first concert, entitled “HaShalom” featuring pianist Sandrine Erdely-Sayo on Saturday October 5, 2024 at 3:00PM. Join us for a concert of works from Sandrine’s latest CD Majestic Liszt, just released in June 2024 to overwhelmingly high reviews, along with works celebrating the Jewish High Holidays. More information to come next week!
We are coming down the home stretch our 20th Anniversary Bishop George E. Councell Memorial Golf Outing on October 14th! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we’d love everyone to get involved. Our exciting pickleball challenge includes play for beginners and experienced players – if you’re interested and haven’t yet tried the sport that’s sweeping the nation, why not try it with your fellow parishioners? If you’d just like to join us for food and fellowship after the tournament, you can buy a ticket for the dinner reception for just $40. Registration forms are on the table outside of Synod Hall. Or, you can sign up on the clipboards by the Golf display in Synod Hall!
Can you contribute a bottle of wine or a gift basket to the Golf Outing? There’s still time to contribute a gift basket to the prize raffle at the dinner reception, and gift cards are always welcome, in any amount! We also feature an exciting “Cork Pull”, where guests purchase a chance to pull a cork and win a bottle of wine. The Golf Committee would be grateful for donations of wine (valued at $20) – this is an easy item to bring to church on Sunday (please give it to Willie Coleman), or drop it off at the Cathedral office. Please have donations in by the end of September.
From August-April, Althia Muse will be offering bi-weekly confirmation classes for anyone seeking confirmation by our bishop on Holy Saturday (April 19, 2025.) Ideally, we will meet alternating Thursdays and some Sundays using both in-person and virtual platforms. Participants will also learn about and support various ministries at the Cathedral. Anyone interested should contact Althia at (609) 802-2303.
At our meeting on June 10, the Vestry, in support of Episcopal Community Services (ECS), voted to be a sustaining member of ECS for 2024. The contribution for a sustaining member is $3,000. Please feel free to contribute this effort as you are able. (Checks can be made payable to Trinity Cathedral, with “ECS” on the memo line, and put in the collection plate or sent to the office.)
The next Food Pantry distribution date is – Saturday, September 28th (2nd & 4th Saturdays this month) from 9-11:00 am. Each Thursday, we distribute hot dinners “to go” from 4:15–5:30pm at the Overbrook Avenue entrance as a satellite location for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
