Please join us for hospitality hour following the 10:30 AM service in Synod Hall! Meet new friends, and enjoy those you already know. If you are new to the Cathedral we’d like to get to know you! Enjoy hot and cold drinks and brunch treats. The entrance to Synod Hall is on the left, off the hallway leading to the parking lot doors. (Just ask if you need directions!)
“Hospitality bringers” for November 1, 2026: Patrice & Joe D’Angelo: ½ gal. iced tea and ½ gal. juice; Ann Marie Paisley: 1 quart of ½ & ½; Cynthia Coleman: Baked goods; Rachel Mathis: 1 doz. Bagels & cream cheese; Carolyn Ford: fruit; Jane Bridge: salad makings/dressing; Joseph Kollie: clean-up. If you would like to bring an item to share, Joyce Gibbs-Spears will have a sign-up sheet in the Synod Hall kitchen during hospitality hour. You don’t need to bring something every week, even once per month would be welcomed. You can also sign up to help with set-up & clean-up. Each week, we will print a reminder list the same way we do with our altar servers.
Have you checked out our “Anglicanism 101” class? Each Sunday at 9:15 am in Synod Hall, we learn about the things that make our Episcopal Church what it is. Last week, we discussed the Book of Common prayer and its use in Sunday services, daily prayer and more! Sessions are informative but not overwhelming, and combine historical info. with present-day relevance. Why do Episcopalians do what we do? Come grab a cup of coffee and find out more!
Singing City: An Artistically Driven, Socially Conscious, and Civically Engaged Vocal Movement Since 1948 presents “Philadelphia Icons” – TODAY at 3:00 PM at Race Street Meetinghouse, Friends Center – 1501 Cherry Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102. This fall concert will feature music that highlights the lives of five Philadelphia change agents who challenged injustice and fought for social change: anti-slavery abolitionists Lucretia Mott and Harriet Tubman; minister and composer Charles Albert Tindley; and vocal artists Marian Anderson and Paul Robeson. Repertoire for this performance includes Stand Up (from the movie “Harriet”), movements from Mendelssohn’s Elijah to be performed by internationally renowned mezzo-soprano and Philadelphia native Marietta Simpson, and the Philadelphia premiere of Here I Stand, composed by Carlos Simon and based on the life of bass-baritone Paul Robeson.
One of our neighbors that has mobility issues needs a ride to church. She lives at the Luther Towers on West State Street, so close to the Cathedral. If you think you can help out (it doesn’t need to be every week) please call Patrice in the office.
Did you know that we host weekly Rosary Devotions? Our group meets via Zoom on Thursdays at 8:00 pm. You can also join via phone if you do not use Zoom. If you would like more information, and to receive a printed devotional to follow along, please speak with Cn. Paul Cooper or Erica Warner.
To help make everyone feel welcome at the Cathedral, we ask that everyone wear their nametags for worship and events at the Cathedral. Look for your nametag near the parking lot entrance. If there is not one with your name on it yet, please use a temporary nametag and sign up on the sheet provided; one will be made for you the following week.
The next Food Pantry distribution date is – Saturday, November 14th (2nd & 4th Saturdays this month) from 9-11:00 am. Each Thursday, we distribute hot dinners “to go” from 4:15–5:30pm at the Overbrook Avenue entrance as a satellite location for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
