Like our Sunday School, the Trinity Cathedral Youth Group’s activities have been on hold since the pandemic began. We are currently re-imagining our program for a planned return. You can learn more about our activities below.
Since shifting to a virtual platform the spiritual engagement and development of the youth remains an important part of the work at the Cathedral. The Trinity Cathedral Youth Group works concurrently with Sunday School members to ensure all children have a way to stay connected. We too have adapted, and use various mechanisms to support the youth though these joint ministries. Some of the measures include sending our youth and their parents encouraging text messages that contain scripture and related reflections, to sharing youth and family programming, or TED talks, on important social justice issues.
Our youth continue to serve a critical role in the worship service by serving as lectors on Family Sunday. Outside of service youth gather virtually to develop and prepare for special presentations to the Cathedral (Christmas, Black History Month, Women’s History, etc.). These presentations are not only a way for our youth to share their gifts with the Cathedral; through these initiatives we are able to keep them connected to one another and God’s word.
If you would like your child to be involved in this ministry, please speak with Dean John or a member of the vestry.
We also welcome members of the congregation who would like to teach or assist, or perhaps share a special interest or talent, to contact us!
