About the Academy
The Academy was founded in 1965 through the generosity of the Very Reverend Frederick Adams and the vision of the Very Reverend Lloyd Chattin. Both Deans of the Cathedral, believed that Trenton’s children had the potential to excel if they were in an academic environment that embraced that potential.
A snapshot of our School:
Trinity Cathedral Academy is the most important and vital outreach ministry initiated by Trinity Cathedral – the Cathedral Church of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey
Trinity Cathedral Academy is located in the historic Berkeley section of West Trenton, New Jersey. The Academy opened in 1965 as an Episcopal Day School.
In 1988, Trinity Cathedral Academy joined with the Trenton Public School District and the NJ Sate Department of Education to become a community provider of high-quality, full-day, full year Abbott Pre-School Program. The Academy has evolved into a no-cost Abbott program for 3- and 4-year-old children with an extended day program providing before and after-school childcare.
A staff of more than ten professional and support personnel provide daily instructions and other services.
The mission of Trinity Cathedral Academy is to offer opportunities for area children to:
- achieve their fullest potential,
- respect the dignity and rights of others,
- develop into positive learners and leaders,
- contribute to the well-being of our school community.
Further, we aim to create an atmosphere where parents, students, staff and community will work together for the betterment and benefit of all.
