Hello! My name is Rev. Shelton Radix, and I will be here with you for the next few weeks at Trinity Cathedral. My last assignment was priest-in-charge at the associated parishes of St. Stephen’s Churches in Beverly and Riverside. I am delighted to be asked to serve you, our Cathedral community, at this time. Serving God and my fellow man is something I enjoy doing and I hope to build long-lasting relationships with all of you here.

I am originally from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and I grew up in the Anglican tradition and school system. My home parish in Trinidad is St. Margaret’s church. I attended Bishop Anstey junior school for my elementary education and Queen’s Royal College for high school. I graduated from Bernard Baruch College in 1995 with a BBA in operations management. In 2007, I graduated from General Theological Seminary with a MDiv in Theology. I served here at Trinity Cathedral as an acolyte, thurifer and lay minister before my ordination in March 0f 2022.

At 19 I migrated to the United States and lived in Brooklyn, New York for seven years before getting married and moving to Perth Amboy, New Jersey. I love sports, especially soccer. With the World Cup coming later this year, I am in my glee! I also ran track in high school and swam on the school team.

My love of sports is shared by my daughter, who swam on her high school team. My wife, Barbara is a second-generation Puerto Rican and can read, write and speak Spanish. She is also a great cook! I am currently living and working in the Burlington County area with my family. We hope to get to know as many of you as possible as we go about our daily life. God Bless.

Faithfully in Christ,

Rev. Shelton Radix
