Dear Members of the Cathedral Congregation,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

After a period of prayer, discernment, and consultation with the Bishop and diocesan leadership, we are pleased to share important news about the life of our cathedral community. The Vestry and Major Chapter have invited the Rev. Cn. Terence Alexander Lee to serve as Acting Dean of the Cathedral, and he has graciously accepted this call.

Father Lee will begin his ministry with us on May 1, serving in this role during the upcoming period of transition. As Acting Dean, he will provide pastoral leadership, support the clergy and staff, and work closely with the Chapter and congregation to sustain the worship, mission, and ministries of the Cathedral.

Father Lee brings a wealth of pastoral experience, a deep commitment to the Episcopal tradition, and a warm and thoughtful approach to ministry. We are grateful for his willingness to walk with us during this time and to help guide the Cathedral with wisdom, steadiness, and faith.

Transitions in the life of a cathedral are both meaningful and hopeful moments. We trust that God continues to lead and shape our community, and we look forward to the ways Father Lee’s leadership will support our shared calling to prayer, service, and witness in the world.

In the coming weeks, we will share opportunities for the congregation to welcome Father Lee and to keep him, our clergy, and our Cathedral community in your prayers.

Please join us in giving thanks for Father Lee’s ministry and in praying for God’s blessing upon this new chapter in the life of our Cathedral.

Faithfully,

Gilbert Williams, Senior Warden

Margaret Nartey, Junior Warden

I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.  (Psalm 86:12, NRSV)

Grace to you and peace,

With a heart full of gratitude and thanksgiving to God, I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is a privilege to introduce myself as the new Acting Dean of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Trenton. As we embark on our ministry together, I eagerly anticipate the blessings God will bring in our shared journey. The people of Trinity Cathedral, along with the Diocese of New Jersey, possess a rich and cherished heritage, and I am grateful to serve as God’s shepherd among you.

As we look ahead, we anticipate the landmark celebration in 2030—marking 100 years as a Cathedral Church in this beloved diocese. Throughout these many years, Trinity Cathedral has served as the seat of the Diocesan Bishop, the Mother Church of the diocese, and most importantly a place of prayer and worship. My hope is to honor and continue this tradition as we journey together, envisioning the next century for our community. God remains present and active, and the Spirit continues to work among us. Let us remember the words of Scripture: “let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we not faint.” (Galatians 6:9, KJV)

I am excited to begin this new relationship and look forward to getting to know each of you as we strive to be the Church in today’s world. Please know that you remain in my prayers.

In Christ,

The Reverend Canon Terence Alexander Lee+, M.Div.
