Join us for coffee hour immediately following the 10:00 am Mass, in Synod Hall (across from the cathedral offices in the hallway on the way to the restrooms.) Along with the weekly Holy Eucharist, Coffee Hour is a place of comfort where we can take the time to increase love for each other as a church community, and find the nourishment – for body and soul – to carry that love out in to the world. It is one of the ways we refill the reservoir that often becomes depleted during the week. It is also where we welcome new people and get to know them beyond just a handshake.
To all members elected to the Trenton Convocation – There is a Trenton Convocation meeting on Thursday, June 4th at 6:30 pm at Christ Church (Cristo Rey) In Trenton.
Ade L. Collins, daughter of Eugenia Collins is scheduled to graduate from Havertown High School on June 4th. She will commence her studies at Kutztown University in the fall, pursuing a degree in Communications Design. Kindly join us in honoring her achievement with a celebration on Sunday, June 7th following the 10:00 am service in Synod Hall, where lunch will be served.
As recently announced, our dear Deacon, Christopher Cox is on a sabbatical break during the summer months – as he supports his wife, Hilary, manage the affairs of her recently deceased brother, Andrew McDonald. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. It is anticipated that managing this complex situation will require multiple visits to the UK in the coming weeks and months. We would like to take up a collection toward a “purse” for Chris and Hilary to help support them in their efforts. If you feel so moved to contribute to this gift, please give your donation to either J. Gil Williams (Senior Warden) or Margaret Nartey (Junior Warden), or place it in the collection plate, clearly marked “Deacon’s purse”. Alternatively, you can mail it to the Cathedral to the attention of Patrice D’Angelo, but please identify the contribution clearly. Thank you all for your generosity.
Our Urban Promise summer camp kick-off picnic – July 2nd – Sponsored by the Cathedral, last year we had over 100 campers and their families participate in this event. It was a great way for the Cathedral family to connect with our neighbors! YOU can help make this event happen by making a donation as we do not have grant money as we did last year to organize this event.
NEEDED:
- Money to purchase burgers, hot dogs, etc.
- 2 large bottles each of ketchup, mustard, & relish
- 3 large seedless watermelons
- 120 individual size bags of chips
- 1 large pkg. napkins
- 4 bags of ice
- 2 large cans of powdered lemonade mix
- Greeters, food servers, set-up & clean-up crews (set-up start at 11a.m.)
There’s something for everyone to do, even if it’s not a physical task. If you’d like to be a part of this fun event on July 2nd, contact Lucy Adams or leave a message in the Cathedral office.
To help make everyone feel welcome at the Cathedral, we ask that everyone wear their nametags for worship and events at the Cathedral. Look for your nametag near the parking lot entrance. If there is not one with your name on it yet, please use a temporary nametag and sign up on the sheet provided; one will be made for you the following week.
