We’re going BACK to the future! – Homecoming Sunday is on September 13th! That day, we will return to our fall worship schedule: 8:00 am Rite I in all Saints’ Chapel (EVERY Sunday), and 10:30 am Rite II in the Cathedral. You may recall that these were our regular worship times, prior to the pandemic. Please bring a potluck dish to share as we enjoy a meal together after the 10:30 am Mass.
Today is the third Sunday of the month. The loose plate offering collected today (and all third Sundays) will be directed to our Food Pantry to fund the assistance we need to continue distributing food to our neighbors. If you feel so inclined to make an extra donation to the plate, it will help this important ministry!
This week we will bag food for the Food Pantry; please join us on Thursday, August 20th at 4:45pm
Please support our Golf Outing! – YOU can help make our October 12th golf outing a smashing success! We are asking for our entire congregation to support this, our largest annual fundraiser, in some way. Of course, we need golfers! But if golfing is not your thing, you can sponsor the event, purchase an ad in our program book, or a ticket for the dinner reception. We also need unique and fun prizes for the raffle and auction following the outing. NOW is the time to speak with family, friends, and businesses you may know to generate support. Restaurant gift cards, tickets to shows and sporting events, overnight stays and gift baskets/baskets of cheer are all great prize ideas! Our golf outing committee is busy recruiting golfers and handling the details of this important annual fundraiser, but there are only so many volunteers on the committee; we can use the help of our parishioners to “hit it out of the park!” Speak with Patrice in the office if you would like more information on how to “make the ask”; there are golf outing brochures on the table in the main hallway.
One of our neighbors that has mobility issues needs a ride to church. She lives at the Luther Towers on West State Street, so close to the Cathedral. If you think you can help out (it doesn’t need to be every week) please call Patrice in the office.
Our Regular hospitality hour will start up again on September 20th – We are trying to formalize a regular schedule where folks bring things on certain Sundays, and we print a reminder in the service bulletin the week prior. If you would like to sign up to bring an item, please take a look at the list posted on the bulletin board across from Synod Hall. You don’t need to bring something every week, even once per month would be welcomed. You can also sign up to help with set-up & clean-up.
During the summer, our after-service hospitality hour has transitioned to lighter, more informal selections of coffee, cookies and cold drinks. This helps simplify set-up and clean-up during the hot summer months, in order to give our hospitality volunteers an annual break. If you would like to continue bringing a dish of any kind to share during the summer, feel free to do so! Alternatively, you may bring cookies or something similar.
We would like to gather some parishioners to attend the annual ECS-NJ Gala in October (please see the flyer in your bulletin for more information.) If you would like to attend, please speak with Patrice D’Angelo in the office.
The 8:30 am Mass is off for summer break; see you in September!
The Cathedral office is currently on summer hours: Mon. – Thurs., 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and Fri., 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
We will be issuing a new Parish Directory in the early Fall – Sometime over the summer, please fill out the “Member Profile Form” found on our literature tables to update your information, and drop it in the collection plate. You can also bring or mail it to Patrice in the office or scan and E-mail it to patriceattrinity@aol.com. Keeping our contact information up-to-date is vital to our parish communications – thank you for your assistance!
To help make everyone feel welcome at the Cathedral, we ask that everyone wear their nametags for worship and events at the Cathedral. Look for your nametag near the parking lot entrance. If there is not one with your name on it yet, please use a temporary nametag and sign up on the sheet provided; one will be made for you the following week.
The next Food Pantry distribution date is – Saturday, August 22nd (2nd & 4th Saturdays this month) from 9-11:00 am. Each Thursday, we distribute hot dinners “to go” from 4:15–5:30pm at the Overbrook Avenue entrance as a satellite location for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
