A reminder that the dedication of our historic embroidered kneeler display is today at 3:00 pm (a brief dedication and discussion of the project, and a reception in Synod Hall.)

On Sunday, May 3rd during hospitality hour, we will host a welcoming reception for our incoming Acting Dean, the Rev. Cn. Terence Lee and his family on their first Sunday with us. If you can bring a dish to share, please do – let’s show the Lee family some of our famous Cathedral hospitality!

To help make Father Lee and his family (and others!) feel welcome at the Cathedral, we ask that everyone once again wear their nametags for worship and events at the Cathedral. This was a helpful practice that unfortunately, went by the wayside after the pandemic. Look for your nametag near the parking lot entrance. If there is not one with your name on it yet, please use a temporary nametag and sign up on the sheet provided; one will be made for you the following week.

Our Easter Garden has been disassembled for the season – Thanks to all for the many contributions that allowed us to make it so beautiful! Some of the plants are available for parishioners to take home. Please visit them in the hallway leading from the Cathedral to the Chapel and take one if you’d like. (Kindly leave the drip trays, as we use them for plants in the Cathedral.)

It’s time to relax and have some FUN! – During this time of transition for our parish, it’s especially important for us to get together for an evening of fun and fellowship. And while we do need to raise funds for the Cathedral, this event is more about gathering together as a congregation and celebrating! This is why we hope you’ll join us for our Cathedral Fashion Show on Saturday, May 9th at 6:00 pm. Tickets are just $30 ($12 for kids 12 and up) and include delicious food, drinks, a DJ spinning music, and… FUN! Tickets are available on Sundays or by calling the office. Our last Fashion Show was a hoot, as parishioners modeled two outfits from their closet (casual and formal-ish.)  All are welcome to participate – please sign up on the clipboard on the table outside Synod Hall, or call the office! If modeling is not your “style”, we know you’ll enjoy each other’s company as we relax together and get to know our new Acting Dean. All the ladies will receive a token of our appreciation, and we’ll honor mother-figures who are 80+. Questions? Speak with Margaret Nartey, our Junior Warden on Sundays, or call the Cathedral office: (609) 392-3805 ext. 100.

A fun way to support the Cathedral – Announce good news! Share what you’re thankful for! Honor your loved ones and the mother figures in your life! The Fashion Show Booster Book will be printed and shared with everyone at the May 9th Fashion Show. (We can also send you an electronic copy, if you’d like!) For a $25 donation, you receive a full page for your message; a half page is $15.  Please E-mail your booster information to Patrice D’Angelo in the Cathedral office: patriceattrinity@aol.com or call to give us your info.: (609) 392-3805 ext. 100. You can give your donations to Margaret Nartey, or place them in the offering plate, clearly marked “Booster Book”. Thank you for your support!

The Cathedral Arts Series at Trinity welcomes vocal artist and entertainer, Keith Spencer in “We Shall Not Be Moved: Songs and Speeches from the Civil Rights Movement” Sunday, May 17th at 2:00 pm. Join us for this uplifting performance at a time when we deeply need to recall the struggles and achievements in the on-going battle for civil rights and dignity for all. Tickets are $30 adults/$10 students; call the Cathedral office.

The spring/summer clothing giveaway has been moved to May 16thin order for us to be able to collect more clothing items. Please bring gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing to the Cathedral by May 14th (leave them in Synod Hall or in the office.) All sizes: socks, shoes, pants, shirts, shorts, sweaters, jackets… even new sheets, towels, & blankets! If you can assist in setting up and/or helping on May 15th or 16th with this ministry, contact Lucy Adams or the Cathedral Office.

Is it raining in here, or is it me? – Probably since it was constructed, Trinity Cathedral (and All Saints Church before it) has grappled with leaks and other incursions of water and dampness. This is not surprising given that more than 40 percent of the rooms in these buildings (The Crypt, The undercroft, the Baggott Room, the lower levels of the Education Wing) are below ground level! The Property, Maintenance, and Improvement Commission has worked diligently to address roof maintenance and repairs, gutter maintenance and clearing, and methods for addressing humidity.

Over the next several months—during peak rain and humidity time—we will systematically be assessing what we can do to keep Trinity dry. However, we need your help! If you are interested in the issues of hydrology and related topics, please contact Bernard McMullan. On a more mundane level, if you see a leak, or evidence of leak, or a dripping or overflowing gutter, please let us know. Take a photo, drop off a note with Patrice, etc. Together, we can develop a reasonable plan and solution.

Two Sundays left to enter to win the Cinco de Mayo basket raffle! – We’ll be selling tickets today and May 3rd after services, and we’ll pick the winner on May 3rd. You’ll have your items in time for Cinco de Mayo! The basket includes a $25 gift card to Chili’s, Fiesta-style housewares, snacks, and margaritas. Tickets are just $10 each.

The next Food Pantry distribution date is – Saturday, May 9th (2nd & 4th Saturdays this month) from 9-11:00 am. Each Thursday, we distribute hot dinners “to go” from 4:15–5:30pm at the Overbrook Avenue entrance as a satellite location for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
