There are Advent calendars for adults and youth on the literature table in the main hallway – please take them to enjoy at home!

Thank you to all who have pledged your support to the Cathedral for 2024! We currently have 52 pledging units, totaling $184,030 – an average of $3,593 per pledging unit. If you would like a pledge card, please speak with Willie Coleman, J. Gil Williams or Dean John.

Can you help with the Greening? – The greening of the Cathedral will take place on Saturday, December 16 from 8:00 am – Noon. Many hands make light work, so please consider lending a hand as we get our Cathedral beautified for Christmas! For more information or to RSVP, please speak with Sue Remmers or Dean John.

On December 31st, our Associate Custodian Michael “PJ” Pettyjohn will retire after fifteen years of service to the Cathedral! – We would like to celebrate his time with us on December 10th after the 10:00am Eucharist. If anyone is so moved you may express your appreciation to PJ directly. We will also put together an offering to him and you are welcome to contribute to this, if you would prefer. Any such contribution to this gift can be turned in to the Cathedral Administrator, Patrice D’Angelo in the office. Checks can be made out to the Cathedral, but please note “Michael Pettyjohn” on the memo line.

It’s Christmas time at UrbanPromise Trenton! – Time to stock the shelves for our Christmas Shop, where the children ‘buy’ gifts for their moms, dads, grandparents, or other special people in their lives. Can you help by purchasing a gift for the shop? Our Altar Guild Shop is close by with some good options, but a new gift between $10 – $25 dollars for a man or woman will be happily received. More specific ideas will be forthcoming over the next few weeks, but your creativity is welcomed. See/call/E-mail Georgia Koenig: (609) 273-3351 or gbkoenig@verizon.net.

Details on this year’s schedule (availability of gift request tags, gift wrapping, and gift distribution) will be forthcoming shortly.  Again this year, gifts will be distributed from Synod Hall approximately one week before Christmas. If you have any questions regarding this ministry or if you wish to volunteer, please contact Judith Miller at (609) 586-0915 or judithm2@verizon.net.

The next Food Pantry distribution date is – Saturday, December 9th (2nd & 3rd Saturdays this month) from 9-11:00 am. All food contributions to the Pantry are welcomed, along with monetary donations to purchase additional food from the food bank and local groceries. Each Thursday, we distribute hot dinners “to go” from 5:00–6:00pm at the Overbrook Avenue entrance as a satellite location for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
