Dear Friends,

As we observe the 1st Sunday in Lent, thank you for joining us today.

Andrea and I are extremely grateful for all the time we’ve spent together in this journey at Trinity Cathedral.

Thank you for the wonderful expressions of love and wonderful generosity you have shared with us last Saturday & Sunday, and on so many other occasions.

Our lives have truly been blessed.

Many of you have asked me whether Andrea and I will be visiting occasionally in the near future, post-February 28th

The simple and honest answer is, not necessarily any time soon.

In the interest of a fair and orderly transition, the Episcopal Church (not just the Diocese of New Jersey) has established protocols discouraging this, so congregations may move forward and the new leadership be allowed to thrive.

We will always be with you in Spirit and forever keep you in our prayers.

René+ & Andrea

If you haven’t already, please add you name and wishes to the card for René & Andrea – it will be available in Synod Hall after Mass.

So many thanks to everyone who contributed time, talent and food for our lovely celebrations for René and Andrea last weekend. Your efforts are much-appreciated! ~ Margaret Nartey

The Dean’s last liturgical service with us will be the Stations of the Cross on Thursday, February 26 at 5:00 pm in All Saints’ Chapel. We have not walked the stations of the cross together, in person, since prior to the pandemic. We would love to see you there!

Ongoing Clergy Support for Trinity Cathedral – As we prepare to say goodbye to Dean René, please be assured that our Cathedral congregation will continue to be well cared for. The Rev. Shelton Radix will be with us for the month of March, to lead services and provide pastoral care as needed, alongside Deacon Chris Cox and our retired Associate Clergy. Many of us know Fr. Shelton from the time he and his family spent with us while he was preparing for seminary studies: let’s welcome the Radix family back to Trinity Cathedral! As their time with us comes to a close, we are focusing our love and gratitude on René and Andrea. In early March, you can expect an update on the next steps for our Cathedral.

Do you have your tickets yet? – Join us TODAY at 3:00 pm for a return performance by the fabulous Keith Spencer! From the mournful call of the Negro spiritual to the cry of protest and purpose signifying the African-American experience from the mid-1950s to late 1960s, We Shall Not Be Moved presents the music that captured the essence and call of the Civil Rights Movement. This inspiring concert experience presents popular songs and poignant readings from leaders, activists, and spokespersons of the time associated with the Civil Rights cause calling to mind the struggle and promise of what was to come. You’ll hear songs such as “Oh, Freedom!”, “People Get Ready”, “Go Down, Moses”, “The Times They Are A-Changin’”, “Lift Every Voice And Sing”, “A Change Is Gonna Come”, and many celebrated others. See a member of CAST for tickets, or purchase at the door.

This week we will bag food for the Food Pantry – join us on Thursday, February 26th at 4:45 pm.

It was so nice, we’re doing it twice! – Save the date for the next Cathedral Fashion Show on May 9th! More details to come soon.

Year-end pledge statements have been mailed for you use when filing tax returns. If you have a mailbox here at the Cathedral office, your statement is in your box – please come visit.

The Altar Guild Shop will be open on the 3rd Sunday of March.

If you are looking for a way to become more involved with the operation of our Cathedral, please see the volunteer bulletin board just inside the parking lot doors. Here you will find posted opportunities to volunteer at the Cathedral, big and small. If you would like to advertise a volunteer opportunity, you can create your own flyer or use the form on the literature table in the main hallway.

The next Food Pantry distribution date is – Saturday, February 28th (2nd & 4th Saturdays this month) from 9-11:00 am. Each Thursday, we distribute hot dinners “to go” from 4:15–5:30pm at the Overbrook Avenue entrance as a satellite location for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
