This week we will bag food for the Food Pantry! Join us on Wednesday, November 19th to help distribute our turkeys (11:00 am) or Thursday, November 20th at 4:45 pm to bag Thanksgiving foods for distribution on the 22nd. For more information, please speak with Cookie Hernandez.
Thanksgiving donations for Food Pantry needed now – On Wednesday, November 19th we will distribute our turkeys, and the “fixins” on Saturday, November 22nd. Please bring in your Thanksgiving foods before the 19th so our volunteers can bag them for distribution. Thank you for your generosity!
Angel Tree Prison Fellowship – It is anticipated that gift request tags will be available for selection in Synod Hall on Sunday, November 23rd. Donations of wrapping paper, ribbons/bows, and large gift bags are always welcomed. We will also need volunteers to wrap gifts and/or to greet the children and their caregivers in Synod Hall on the day gifts are distributed. Exact dates for these activities will be announced in early December. Join us in this ministry that transforms lives and brings joy to prisoners and their families at Christmas time! For information or to volunteer, contact Judith Miller at 609-586-0915 or judithm2@verizon.net; or see her after the 10:00 am service in the coming weeks.
UrbanPromise Trenton’s Christmas Shop: Help to Stock the Shelves! – Every year at this time UPT sets up a Christmas Gift Shop in the Guild Room and invites the children in to ‘shop’ for their families for Christmas. They love new small appliances (crockpots, coffeemakers, toasters, etc.), hats, gloves, slippers, wallets, pajama pants, bath towels, chocolates, and more… candles, beach bags, packages of hand lotion, spa kinds of things… whatever you think, mom, dad, grandmom and grandad might like. Be creative! Please bring your donations to the Cathedral office or see Georgia Koenig.
If you are looking for a way to become more involved with the operation of our Cathedral, please see the volunteer bulletin board just inside the parking lot doors. Here you will find posted opportunities to volunteer at the Cathedral, big and small. If you would like to advertise a volunteer opportunity, you can create your own flyer or use the form on the literature table in the main hallway.
The next Food Pantry distribution date is – Saturday, November 22nd (2nd & 4th Saturdays this month) from 9-11:00 am. Each Thursday, we distribute hot dinners “to go” from 4:15–5:30pm at the Overbrook Avenue entrance as a satellite location for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
